FREE 1 Day Training – ROCA Training for Police Officers

Rewire4 is a Cognitive Behavioral Skill Based Practice designed specifically for Police Officers in the field.  It gives police methods, skills and tools they can use when they are out on the street responding to people and events in real time. It helps officers understand the brain science and trauma that results in the need to intervene and methods to effectively intervene.  It provides four critical CBT skills/tools (Be Present, Label Your Feelings, Flex Your Thinking, and Act on Your Values) officers can use on the street every day.
The objectives for the training are as follows:
    •    1. To explain how the survival responses of fight, flight, and freeze are connected to the “bottom brain” and can be disrupted by applying skills developed in the “top brain”.
    •    2. To describe  how trauma impacts the brain by providing three examples of traumatic events and their impact on one’s ability to regulate behaviors and emotions.
    •    3. To provide examples of how officers can increase empathy towards those they interact with traumatic events and their impact on one’s ability to regulate behaviors and emotions.
    •    3. To provide examples of how officers can increase empathy towards those they interact with personally and professionally.
    •    4. To explain how neuroplasticity allows us to rewirethe pathways in our brain.
    •    5. To explain think-feel-do cycles and distinguish between those that are helpful and those that are not.
    •    6. To pause unhelpful cycles in our personal and professional lives and apply a skill – Be Present, Label Your Feelings, Flex Your Thinking, and Act on Your Values – to have the opportunity to make a different choice.
And just a couple of other things –
    •    The training is eight hours in-person
    •    At least one of the trainers is in law enforcement
    •    Because behavioral change takes longer than eight hours, the core concepts of the training are repeated via a series of texts over a three month period.
