Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement Members Present Colors at Red Sox Women’s Celebration Event

The Executive Board of the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) is pleased to share that several members represented women in law enforcement at the Boston Red Sox Women’s Celebration event at Fenway Park in April. It is believed that this was the first all-female Honor Guard for the Red Sox.

During a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, women from several Massachusetts law enforcement agencies, including the Boston Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department, Waltham Police Department, Quincy Police Department and Babson College Police Department represented MAWLE by participating in the presentation of colors.

The game included a Women’s Celebration during which the Red Sox welcomed women from across the Greater Boston area and recognized many barrier-breaking women throughout the game.

“We are very appreciative of the response by our members and their departments, and their willingness to assist us for this event,” said MAWLE President Marie Cleary. “Presenting the colors is an honor, and we are pleased to have MAWLE represented as part of such a special tradition. We thank the Red Sox for welcoming us.”
